The old witch stood outside her cave, the place she called home, and thought this will coldest winter Shadow Forrest has known in centuries.
looking to the uppermost branches of Ginnell, the eight hundred year old ent that had taken up residence across the way she saw about 20 Pixi Pods huddled close to conseve warmth. This will never do , those little critters will need more to warm them in the coming months. There would be no point to inviting them in as this group would not leave the trees.
Hurrying back inside where it was warm, she set out to the storage rooms , they were maybe a quarter mile deep in the mountain. She had never needed to learn the way of spin & weave, because in these rooms were stored enough threads & Fibers to last for generations . Here she found exactly what she was looking for, wonderful yarns in a large array of colors and texture. She would knit the little pixies soft, warm, blankets .
The witch set to knitting , not sleeping a wink that first evening. Dawn arrived and she had finished four pod blankets, and inside each she had put a sweet treat . They would delivered to Ginell's lowest branch before she started the morning chores .
The next day she returned to leave four more pod blankets, and there on Ginell's lowest branch where she had left the first pod blankets was a bag, about the size of an apple, filled with pinenuts. Now this was an unexpected pleasure, pinenuts are a delightful treat. She picked up the bag and noticed another package, it was neatly tied with handmade twines. Putting both packages in her rather large pockets she headed off to finish morning chores.
The old witch done with chores set about making midday meal. Toasting the pinenuts and tossing them on a small flat sweet cake with a few berries to sweeten." OH MY" what a wonderful treat
Inside the little package there was an assortment of beads, buttons and charms......those little Pixi Pod Dwellers wanted their blankets decorated , well there would be time for that later.

While looking for unique yarns for doll hair I found this great yarn at JoAnns called Magical 'Hocus Pocus', and thanks to our lovely mail lady who is an enthusiastic knitter , have been inspired to make a vest .
